Matt Toohey has been involved in the electrical and plastics industry
since leaving school at the age of 17. As Marketing Director, his role
is to bring clients to Underwriters Laboratories and to ensure a positive
working relationship between client and laboratory. Matt sees the job
as an opportunity to bring engineering solutions to life: “We act as
the last link in our client’s development process. We take that role
seriously and diligently apply the principles of quality of delivery
to our ISO 17025 standard, secrecy and integrity. Our success is a

Shock and Vibration and Environmental Compliance Engineer
“Working within the Environmental Department at Underwriters Laboratories
offers testing capabilities in the areas of shock, vibration,
environmental chambers, and IP (Ingress Protection) testing. Vibration
and shock testing is carried out on computer-controlled LDS equipment
enabling a wide range of random, sinusoidal, and shock-pulse outputs.
The collection of environmental chambers includes programmable control
of relative humidity and temperature, as well as salt-fog and
altitude-testing facilities.”
