Salt Mist Tester
Underwriters's environmental testing capabilities have been enhanced
with the purchase of a new Salt Mist Tester from the USA. The new
chamber is able to provide full testing to IEC 60068 MIL-STD 810F
and DEF-STAN 0035. Contact Underwriters for more information on other
standards that can also be catered for with the Salt Mist Tester.
Environmental Chamber
Underwriters recently purchased a Thermotron Environmental Testing
Chamber. This allows the laboratory to test from -78°C to +185°C
and provide humidity control. The addition of this chamber provides
greater scope for testing under military standards and wider
application of IEC 60068. The Thermotron chamber is also suitable
for manufacturer-specified testing - please contact Underwriters for
more information.
Altitude Testing Chamber
The addition of an Altitude Testing Chamber, designed and built by
Underwriters's staff, enables the laboratory to simulate avionic
environments to 25,000 feet. The chamber's large pump apparatus
ensures very fine control and a series of valves allows products to
be powered under test. It has also been fitted with two N-type
connectors for attaching antenna.
